The Art of Photography
Ok.. lame subject.. As u all by now, I'm into photography.. No w8, let me rephrase that.. I'm soo much in love with photography. Hee. Well, like they said, if u have the passion for it, then go for it! For the time being, it's just a hobby of mine as I'm still such an amateur even tho' it's been a year since I've owned a DSLR. Baack then, I thought, okay maybe it's just the in thing, and it'll pass.. Haha.. But now, even after a year, I'm still so much into it that I practically sleep with my cam & lenses (Really!! That bad!!)
Nwyz, as I mentioned earlier on, this thing is in our genes. My families loves photography. My dad, my uncles, my sister and even my cuzzy who just bought his Sony A200 few days ago. How kewl is dat! For me, I suck in words, which is y.. in my blog, u seldom see me write poetic, wordy, long phrases. It's better that I say straight to the point. To hell with the funny, melodrama words. :p Rather than expressing my thoughts in words, it's better I expressed it in photos. Someone even told me that, when I'm in a bad mood, my pictures sucks! But if I'm in a very good mood, then my pictures will turn out fine. It's not about people commented ur photos is nice or bad, it's my way of forgetting things.
My mind or my brain is constantly ticking. The only time when I don't think is when I sleep. The rest of the day all I do is thinking about my problems cuz I worried too much. (way too much) which is y, I'm a very forgetful person. My loved ones or people around me know how absent minded I am. Haha :p When I'm busying myself with the cam, I never think bout those problems which is y I love it so much. It kinda takes me to wonderland where all I care about that time is how am I goin to produce good photos. :)
Ok.. nuff of that. Whoa.. amazing! I just wrote 3 para of this post!! *claps* Hahahaha..
Nywz, I found sumthing really interesting 2dy. A book. A book which features all the world's most amazing photographers. Check it out here. It's an e-book. I hope to make just like this one day and feature the talented and amazing photographers of Sabah. Hmm.. interested? Holla me k? ;)
Btw, in case ur wondering. What equips did I use for all the photos in my blog?
Most of the time, I just use my kitlens. And they say that kitlens doesnt work. Well, for me, I personally think, no matter how good and expensive the equipments are, if the one who is using is suck, well then.. (u get the picture?) .. For traveling, or most common events, then it'll b the kitlens. Sumtimes I do use my plastic 50mm lens for portrait shots. For events or live performance in a low light condition and where u don't have a VIP pass to go near the stage, (like me) then I'll use my telephoto lens, with IS of course. Hee. This lens have never, up til now havent disappoint me. (Yet :p)

75-300mm IS
And finally, after about 1 year, I finally got my speedlite. Long time coming. Pheww!!

430ex is good for me.. (for now.. hahahaha)
and last but not least.. My new Sigma 17-70mm

I really lurve this cuz it produce sharp pixies!! (Cha, I used this lens to shoot Lembah Impian pics.. :p)

Within 1 year, I've expanded up to this, I'd must say.. I'm doin pretty good.. Don't u think so?? LOL..
Now, all I need is a wide angle lens (which my dad is constantly pestering me to buy one.. I nearly fainted when I saw the price of a Canon wide angle lens) , macro lens & a tripod.. am eye-ing for 1 of those Manfrotto tripod. *Pingsan* And I'm constantly pestering & hinting the BF for a MacBook. LOL. *sighs* so many things I want. Diela if like this..
On another note..
Recently, most of you noticed it by now, I lurve taking the jump shots. And some even asked me how do I do that. Well, for me.. I'd say it's trial and error. I'm not sure if u can do it using a point & shoot camera but it's possible for a DSLR. Like this shot:

Try using a faster shutter speed eg: 1/1000 or even faster but at the same time adjusting the ISO. Okies? :-)
Will post some photos soon. ;-)

I envy u so much Danne..u knw so much abt photography. And I second u when u said that it's a way to fly urself to wonderland. Wish u all the best in ur mau-jadi-pro-photog cita2. Always knw u can do it.
Am gonna learn more using the kitlens 1st..then will I think of getting a new lens. Yet, ada suda hint2 wanna buy 70-300mm IS lens.
currently i only have 1 lens which is the kitlens 18-70mm 3.5-5.6. I find it very hard to take pictures in low light condition especially concert or events that are held indoors with very dim light cuz the singers are constantly moving so when i higher the shutter speed it becomes dark. ahh no money to buy lens. planning to get the minolta 50mm 1.7 lens for low light and also a telephoto lens. either gonna get the minolta 70-210 f/4 or sigma 70-300mm APO lens. No money. hehe how much is canon 50mm lens ah?
Wow..everyone's into photography nowadays..cool!! but kesian me, I interested in people taking my shoots only hehe..i really need to find a hobby that involve HANDS!hehehe
B, ermm.. i dun knw so much about photography.. i read a lot but i pratice less.. hahahahaaha.. Yes.. I'm a Travel Photographer enthusiast! :p
For beginners, use the kitlens.. get to knw him 1st & I mean really know him.. knw the functions & all.. if not, teda guna juga buy other lens.. I'm a slow learner.. besides teda urg mo ajar sa.. it tooks me nearly 6 mths to understand this & that.. then I started buying lens.. Heee :p
Cha: If u dun have a speedlite yet, use watever u have.. always remember, even u dun have the necessary equips, u can still have the best shot.. for low light condition, try increase ur ISO speed, quality may decrease but still can be use.. try play with settings.. use manual then u'll know what settings to use.. if u can't afford lens yet, just use kit lens 1st.. telephoto lens is helpful.. & try find lenses which has f2.8.. :p I think la.. :p.. ok.. try ebay.. for SonyA lens it quite cheap there.. Canon 50mm cost me only RM280.. I think that's the cheapest lens ever! Yups.. moving objects had to shoot sumtimes..try google on how to freeze action so that pics wont turn out blur.. usually I set the shutter speed faster.. trial & error la.. if u shoot 100 pics, sumtimes only 10 pics are acceptable.. that's the learning process.. Hee :p Cha, I think it's time for u 2 open up a blog.. ahahha.. really.. post ur pics & people will able to comment.. flickr very limited ba :P
La: Dun worry!! U'll find out sooner or l8r.. most of us are actually meant for sumthing!! Hee.. :p
If I have the money I would prefer Canon lenses...but I'm thinking spending less. Where did you get your Sigma lens? How much?
Canon Rules!!
Hey disney!!
Sory.. l8 reply!! :p yup, prefer canon lenses too but cant afford la :p.. lens for sigma, got it from Fotomat.. about less than rm1500.. hee :p
Orite thanks. Fotomat...that's where I got my cheap 55-250mm. That time I didn't notice any Sigma though. I'm thinking of getting a more multipurpose lens such as an 18-300mm and a super wide lens too. I met a photographer recently with an 18-300mm which he prefers to changing lenses all the time. That's true for me too.
For sigma, they said that they wont sell it publicly.. But asked for it.. Hee :p 18-300mm? Am the one who likes to travel around.. n carrying that bulking thing doesnt suit me tho' :p.. however, sum1 did recomend me the 70-200mm for travelling and the 10-20mm for wide angle.. soo, now am eyeing that one.. and a tripod too.. kekeke.. mayb sumtimes, we have to change lens huh?? but i tried to avoid that if i'm in a dusty area.. wudnt want to get any dust in my cam.. hahaha..
