Inspired

With the increasing number of people owned DSLRs, the amount of photographers are also piling up. Some self acclaimed, while others are really them. There are amateurs and pros. DSLRs nowadays r like handphones. It's a trend. One must have.

But as for me, I'm just someone who have a hobby like everyone else. I'm just someone who reeaaaaally like or rather in love with photography. It's love, lust, passion, call it what u like. I couldnt afford those expensive lens or cams and yet here I am. Spending it all like nobody's business. Pathetic huh?

Nywz, being a blogger, I alwayz blog hop. From one to another, thru blogs links and sometimes google-ing. What I found is actually really disappointing where most of the photographers nowadays are MOSTLY or the percentage of people doing wedding photography is HUGE. I mean, it's as if all of them wanted to shoot only wedding cuz it's an ez thing to bring up $. (And with low budget DSLRs coming out, really doesn't help. It's like everyone wants to be the photographer). Well, nywz, there's more to than just weddings u know. And because of that, I rarely browse those sites nymore. What I'm trying to say is that, I get BORED seeing wedding photography blogs. It's just not as inspiring as ever. It's like the 'uuuhhh' or the 'aahhhh' or the 'waaaaa' is not there already. I don't know, maybe it's me. Well, it is me. duh! haha. But really, I get bored and uninspired seeing those kind of photography. Don't take this the wrong way, I mean, some, I still visit their sites and they earned my respect but some I just.. urghh.. bored. Plain bored. I know some might not agree with me, obviously, ur entitled to ur own opinions and likes or dislikes but this is my blog and this is what I wanted to say.

Well, okay. That wasn't what I wanted to say actually. But whatever.

I was browsing thru photography forums and found that Manuel Libres Librodo Jr or "Manny Librodo" won the POTY 2008 for the Dusk to Dawn category. Was ecstatic to see his picture won the 1st place! Woohoo!

Manny Librodo is an inspiration to me back in since 2007 when I bought an online ebook by Ban Hup Teh, a Malaysian photographer who did attend one of many Manny's workshop. When I saw the great images he created, I fell in love instantly. He's actually a Filipino based in Thailand. He has actually conducted several workshops in Msia (and that is one of my wishlist, to meet and join his workshop. Sighhhs. Wonder when will that ever be? Haha.) Nywz, his works are mostly people or portraits and some landscapes photography etc (And obviously not weddings)

Another Filipino photographer that really catches my eye is Parc Cruz, I first saw his work when I bought the Philippines Photographer mag back in 2007. His photo is also one of the "Commended" photos of the POTY 2008 in the Creative Vision category. The thing I love about his photos is that, not only it was captured by a great creative eye but the post processing is also amazing.

Looking at their work really inspires me. Even tho' I wouldn't want to be a pro-photog but as a photography enthusiasts, it's really get me going. Things like this gets us going. Things like this make us wake up in the morning saying my life is worth something if I learn something new 2dy. Things like this gives u confidence, encouragement and positive thinking and attitude. You can even tell urself, if they can do it, y can't I? Cliche, alam ko, pero totoo di ba? ;p

So, what or who inspires you?
